Former Dundalk resident Clarence R. Smith died of a heart attack on Oct. 22 at his home in Essex. He was 78.
{reg}Born in Clinton, Tenn., he served in the U.S. Navy for four years and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a Mason at Patapsco Lodge 183.
“He was a friendly guy who enjoyed football,” a loved one recalled.
Daughters Joyce Melvin and Louise Martin, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive him.
Darlene Smith, his wife of 40 years, preceded him in death.
Services were held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home in Dundalk, with burial at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.{/reg}
