Hillshire Road resident Louis Byrd Nichols Sr. died March 8 in Dundalk from multiple illnesses. He was 82.
{reg}Born in Towson to the late Louis and Isabell Marie Nichols, he attended Dundalk High School, worked at Bethlehem Steel for 40 years and owned Dundalk Appliance Service for 30 years.
He was a civilian pilot and flew for the Civil Air Patrol in a Cessna he kept at Essex Sky Park.
He enjoyed motorcyles, and hypnotism, and belonged to the International Institute of Hypnosis. He was also a member of the Edgemere Church of God.
Anna M. Nichols, his wife of 60 years, son Louis B. Nichols Jr., daughters Renee Smith and Kathy Chopper, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him.
Sister Elaine Cogan predeceased him.
Servives were held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, with interment at Parkwood Cemetery.{/reg}
