Former Dundalk resident Elmer James Eberle Sr. died Dec. 30 at his home in Cape Coral, Fla., where he had lived for three years. He was 77.
{reg}He and his wife Carolyn J. Eberle, who survives him, raised their four children in Dundalk. The couple lived in New Freedom, Pa., before moving to Florida. They were married for 60 years.
He was a meatcutter for many years and sold real estate with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He attended First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, Fla.
Survivors also include children James Eberle Jr., Melody A. Blades, Deborah A. Malanowski and Joseph M. Eberle Sr., brother Ronald Eberle, 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was born in Baltimore to the late Elmer C. and Dorothy Eberle. Sister Dolores Kilpatrick and one granddaughter also preceded him in death.
Services were held at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary in New Freedom, with interment at New Freedom Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.{/reg}
