Louis H. Sparks Jr.

Former Edgemere resident Louis H. Sparks Jr. died of a heart attack on June 2 in Charles Town, W.Va., where he lived. He was 76.
    {reg}The 1955 graduate of Sparrows Point High School served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years as an air traffic controller.
    He  worked for Bethlehem Steel and then as an Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controller for 21 years. He later owned and operated Sparks and Sons Car Dealership.
    He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the carpenters’ union and the Hermitage Ridge Skeet Shooting Club.
    His interests included woodworking, gardening, shooting and reading.
    Survivors include Marjorie Gingher Sparks, his wife of 56 years, sons Michael Wayne and Matthew Jon Sparks, daughters Laura Sparks Leary and Susan Sparks Myers, sister Mary Lee Sparks Makinen, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
    He was born in Baltimore to the late Louis H. and Naomi Sparks. Brothers Ronald Wayne and Dennis Lee Sparks also preceded him in death.{/reg}
