Donald N. Dillon

Edgemere native and Vietnam War veteran Donald N. Dillon died of cancer on July 23 at his home in Louisville, Ky., where he had lived for over 40 years. He was 67.
    {reg}The son of the late Annabelle Hudson Dillon and John W. Dillon attended Edgemere Elementary School and graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1966.
    He served in the U.S. Army for three years, with a tour in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He worked at Thompson Steel in Dundalk for three years and then for CSX Railroad in Kentucky for 25 years.
    He enjoyed antique cars, owned a 1963 Falcon Sprint and belonged to the Falcon Club of America. He was also a master woodcrafter. He attended Prairie Village Church of Christ.
    Survivors include Sharron K. Rainwater Dillon, his wife of 45 years, twin daughters Venessa R. Scott and Teressa M. Taylor, brothers John W. Dillon III, Ronnie Dillon, Paul Dillon and Charles W. Rainwater and three grandchildren. Brother Frank “Sonny” Dillon preceded him in death.
    Services were held at Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, with interment at Bethany Cemetery.
