George Kendall Birmingham

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for George Kendall Birmingham on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 7945 North Boundary Road. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
    {reg}The Korean War veteran died Aug. 18 at his Dundalk home, with his wife by his side. He was 84.
    Born in Edgemere in the home of his late parents, he graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955.
    “He was a real lover of music all his life,” a loved one said. He served in several drum and bugle corps as a young man, sang with elite choir groups at St. Rita Roman Catholic and St. Luke Roman Catholic churches and enjoyed listening to his collection of opera and classical music. He also enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the seashore.
    Survivors include wife Carol Ann McKinney Birmingham, son Mark George Birmingham and six grandchildren. Son Kevin Kendall Birmingham preceded him in death.
    Memorial contributions in his name may be made to  a charity of the donor’s choice.{/reg}
