Services for Frederick D. Young Jr. will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Ave.
{reg}The longtime Dundalk resident and World War II veteran died Oct. 26 at Augsburg Lutheran Home in Lochearn. He was 87 and lived on Lawrence Avenue for many years.
The son of the late Fred and Ella Young served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the war. After graduating from Bloomsburg College in 1949, he worked as a speech therapist at Dundalk Elementary and other local schools from 1950 to 1985.
He was a former member of Faith and St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in Baltimore and later attended First Lutheran Church of Gray Manor.
A fan of old movies, he served as president of the Old Time Radio Buffs and enjoyed taking home movies.
Survivors include wife Dottie, son Dan, daughters Ellen Mikula and Margaret Pfeiffer, stepsons Bill and Douglas Kittle and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by first wife Katherine Young, second wife Bernadine Young and sister Lois.{/reg}
