Former Eastwood resident Rose L. Mullaney died June 30 at Riverview Nursing Home in Essex at the age of 94.
    {reg}She was born in Baltimore to the late Margaret and George Letmate.
    She worked at Bickford’s Restaurant in Baltimore as a waitress for 20 years and raised six children.
    She was known for entertaining friends and family and enjoyed ceramics and sewing.  As a younger woman she enjoyed wallpapering.
    A former member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eastpoint, she was a current member of Prince of Peace Church in Rosedale and of the Rosedale Senior Center.
    Sons James, George, Bernard, Ray and Kenneth Mullaney, daughter Audrey Rice, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild survive her.
    Husband James L. Mullaney preceded her in death.
    Services were planned for Eastern Assembly of God, with interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Lifelong Dundalk resident Alfred A. Danna died June 24 at Franklin Square Hospital from pneumonia. The Korean War veteran was 83.
    {reg}He was born and raised on St. Helena Avenue, the son of the late Vera and Anthony Danna. He graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1947 with his future wife, Lois, who survives him. The couple had known each other since third grade and were married for 63 years.
    He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked at Bethlehem Steel for 34 years.
    He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Gray Manor and of Patapsco Masonic Lodge 182.
    He loved to camp, fish and hunt with his family.
    In addition to his wife, sons Bruce and Alfred Danna Jr. and three grandchildren survive him.
    Brother Anthony Danna and a grandson predeceased him.
    Services were held at
Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, with burial at Druid Ridge Cemetery.{/reg}

Longtime Plainfield Road resident and World War II veteran Anthony T. (Bud) Schneck died July 2 of cancer at the home where he had lived for 60 years. He was 87.
    {reg}Born in Baltimore to the late Esther and Anton Schneck, he graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and worked at Martin Marietta for 38 years until his retirement.
    He enjoyed family gatherings, playing golf, shooting pool and bowling.
    His wife, Ruth, of 63 years survives him, along with sons Wayne, Brian and Randy, brother James Schneck and five grandchildren.
    Son Bruce preceded him in death.
    A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church following a viewing at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home.

Former longtime North Point Village resident Loretta A. Pruchniewski died of cancer July 6 at her Eder Road home. She was 67.
   {reg} She was born in Baltimore and worked as a cashier at Drug City Pharmacy.
    She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and crocheting.
    Daughters Dawn R. Kight and Karen C. Lamartina survive her, along with sons Gerald A. Jr., Michael D., Joseph A. and David W. Pruchniewski, siblings Cathy Ward, Barbara  Majka, Shirley Carter, Marge Ellison, Debbie and Harry Meszaros Jr., eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Husband Gerald A. Pruchniewski Sr. and sister Dorothy Filippetti predeceased her.
    A memorial service was planned for North Point Baptist Church.{/reg}

Longtime Northship Road resident Caroline V. Loiacono died June 27 from pneumonia at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The former nurse was 88.
   {reg} Born in Mt. Clare, W.Va., to Millie and Braxton L. Rinehart, both of whom predeceased her, she graduated from Lost Creek High School.
    She moved to Baltimore in 1942 in pursuit of war-related employment opportunities and worked at Glen L. Martin plant as a “Rosie the Riveter.” She later graduated from the Baltimore City Hospital School of Nursing.
    After her marriage to the late Anthony Loiacono in 1951, the couple moved to Oakland, Calif., where her four children were born. They returned to Baltimore in 1966 and moved into their Northship Road home where she resided the rest of her life.
    She was a nurse at Baltimore City Hospitals for 26 years, the majority of which was spent on the psychiatric ward. “She was a very caring, compassionate and learned mental health nurse,” according to a loved one. She received an associate’s degree from Essex Community College in 1983.
    She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and lottery scratch-offs. She also enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers.
    She was an active member of Dundalk United Methodist Church, the Dundalk Methodist Women and the Woman’s Club of Dundalk.
    Children Marianne T. Johnson, Joseph L., Mark S. and Nancy D. Loiacono, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson survive her.
    Services were held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, with burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery.{/reg}

Dundalk resident James A. Nida died on July 2. He was 59.
    {reg}The son of Thomas Nida and the late Mary Ella Nida, he was born in Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army as an MP for four years.
    He was a 27-year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, and had previously worked for Bethlehem Steel in the police department.
    Together with his father, he is survived by Kathleen Nida, his wife of 33 years, children Al and Heather Nida and brothers John and Bill Nida.

Dundalk resident Daniel Delfino died July 10 from cancer. The longtime Edsworth Road resident was 82.
    {reg}He was born in Leets-dale, Pa., served in the U.S. Army for two years and worked at Bethlehem Steel.
    Wife Nancy E. Delfino survives him, along with children Daniel Delfino, Debra Faulhaber, Donna Douglas, Diane Rossi and Michele Barry, brother Joseph Delfino, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Longtime Ross Avenue resident Catherine M. “Kathi” Kellner died July 2 from injuries incurred in a motorcycle accident. She was 55.
    {reg}She worked at Broadway Services for Johns Hopkins Transportation Services.
    She enjoyed riding motorcycles, hanging out with her pool league team and spending time with her four grandchildren.
    Together with her grandchildren, she is survived by daughters Charity and Crystal Kellner and siblings Tom Giblin, Mary Randall and Mark Giblin.
    She was predeceased by parents Catherine and Thomas Giblin, brother Rick Giblin and first and second husbands Charles Kellner and Steve Bush.

Sparrows Point resident Ervin G. Rauhauser died June 27 of natural causes. The New York native and Navy veteran was 89.
   {reg} Born in Schenectady, N.Y., to Clara and Mervin Rauhauser, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
    He worked at General Electric in Schenectady for 39 years.
     He was a member of the Rexford Fire Department, St. George’s Masonic Lodge 6, Sigma Bodies AASR, American Legion Post 1450, the Volunteer Fire Association and the Fire Police Association of Saratogo County. He was also a U.S. Naval Memorial member.
    He enjoyed observing the maritime activity on North Point Creek and patronizing his favorite Edgemere and Millers Island restaurants.
    Children Karen McClelland and Jeffrey Rauhauser, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him.
    Gloria Rauhauser, wife of 38 years, predeceased him.
    A graveside service was held at Memorial Gardens in Schenectady.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Marie B. “Shirley” Sitko at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 1727 Lynch Road, Saturday, July 21, 11 a.m. A rosary will be said in her honor at 10:30 a.m.
    {reg}The longtime Eastfield resident died April 2 of conjestive heart failure in Dundalk. She was 75 and had lived on Kavanagh Road for 51 years.  
    The daughter of the late Mary and Anthony Benyock, she was born in Ranshaw, Pa., and attended St. Michael’s School in Baltimore.
    She worked for Union Trust for several years and owned three thrift and antique stores in the Highlandtown area.
    She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church and belonged to several pinochle clubs.
    “She enjoyed being with family and was a great hostess. Everyone felt comfortable in her home,” a loved one recalled. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards and bingo.
    Children William Sitko and Maryann Chorabik, brother Raymond Benyock and four grandchildren survive her.
    Henry Sitko, husband of 50 years, predeceased her.

Former Dundalk resident and veteran teacher Lucille C. Hudgins died July 6 of natural causes at her home in Spotsylvania, Va. She was 94.
    {reg}The daughter of the late Nannie and Robert Healy, she was born and raised in Warner, Va., and had lived in Dundalk for 45 years.
    She graduated from Saluda High School in 1935 and from Fredericksburg State Teachers College in 1937.  During her 30-year teaching career, she taught at O’Donnell Heights Elementary School and at Roland Park Elementary School.
    She was a former member of Patapsco United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time with family and friends.
    Daughters Cynthia Simmons, Elizabeth Vermette, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive her.
    Curtis Hudgins, her husband of 31 years, preceded her in death, along with sisters Hilda Daniel and Addie R. Guess.
    Services were held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, with interment at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.{/reg}

    Lifelong Edgemere resident Ronald L. Carmack died July 6 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of a heart attack at the age of 68. He lived on Veronica Avenue, where he was born and raised.
    {reg}The son of the late Jessie and John Carmack, he worked as a painter at the Sparrows Point Shipyard for 25 years and then with the U.S. Coast Guard for 15 years.
    Alice, his wife of 45 years, survives him, along with daughters Bridditt L. Spenner, Belinda Schultz and Veronica Buxenstein, sister Delores Siperick, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
    Services were held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, with interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial service for Inez H. Scott will be held Friday, July 27, at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, 101 Avon Road.    
    The Dundalk resident died July 11 at her home with family. She was 93.
    {reg}The daughter of Edward Z. and Mary C. Heath, she was born in Chester, graduated from  F.D. St. Clair High School in Cambridge and attended Princess Anne Academy [now the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.]
    In 1937 she moved to Harrisburg, Pa., where she married the late James L. Scott and raised three children. She worked for the Pennsylvania state government and retired after 27 years as a senior clerk. She was church secretary at Wesley Union A.M.E. Zion Church for 50 years and belonged to the King’s Daughters Club and the Zionite Gospel Chorus.
    In 2003, she entered the ElderPlus program in Baltimore and in 2009 began living independently in Dundalk.
    She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Turner Station.
    Children Sharon H. Scott and the Rev. Dred Scott survive her, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
    Son James L. Scott Jr. preceded her in death.

    Longtime Dundalk resident Irene D. Borowicz died June 8 at her home of lung cancer. She was 84.
    {reg}The daughter of the late Sadie and Herman Newstrom, her family lived for many years on Nooft’s Farm on Manchester Road.
    She attended Patapsco Neck School before leaving school to work at Read’s Drugstore on Center Place as a counter waitress. She also worked at Crown Cork & Seal as a tin flopper. Later in life she was an employee at F. A. Davis Company, where she retired.
    As an adult, she lived on Port Street in Baltimore for many years where she met her future husband, the late Thaddeus Borowicz. The couple married in July 2007 after a long friendship.
    She enjoyed bus trips to casinos, watching the Orioles, tending her flower garden and taking care of her home. She was fond of her neighbors, children and pets.
    Sisters Dot Paciocco, Laura Daley and Fran Pettie survive her.
    Siblings Shirley Miceli, Charles Smith and Bernard Newstrom predeceased her.
    A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church following services at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home. Interment was at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.{/reg}

    {reg}The longtime Dundalk resident died July 19 at Gilchrist Hospice Care of cancer. She was 77 and had lived on 47th Street for 54 years.
    Born in Columbus, Ohio, she was a homemaker and a daycare provider for many years.
    She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Essex and Grace Church in Rosedale.
    She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Maggie. She also enjoyed gardening, baking and reading.
    Survivors include husband Charles E Callahan Jr. of 45 years, sons Charles III and David Callahan, daughters Linda Ziegler, Donna Geppi and Michele Stamper, brother Richard Bainum and seven grandchildren.     She was predeceased by brothers John and David Bainum.{/reg}

     Longtime Edgemere resident William K. Palmer died June 26 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of natural causes. He was 101.
    {reg}Born in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late William and Margaret S. Palmer.
    He began working at Bethlehem Steel as a welder in the 1940s and retired after 30 years of service.
    He enjoyed boating, crabbing and fishing with his friends and neighbors in Edgemere.
    Wife Bessie M. Palmer and siblings Theodore K. Palmer and Margaret Hockenberry preceded him in death.
    Services and interment were in West Virginia.{/reg}

    The couple were both lifelong Brown Avenue residents.
    {reg}Mr. Grabowski died July 12 at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. He was 92 and survived his wife by three weeks. The couple were married for 70 years.
    He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He worked at Western Electric where he retired after several years of service.
    He was an Orioles fan.
    Mrs. Grabowski died June 21 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes. She was 89.
    She worked as a toll collector and also as a seamstress.
    The couple enjoyed arts and crafts, woodworking and traveling together.
    Sons Joseph Grabowski and Stephen Grabowski Jr., daughter Cynthia Wilhelm, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive them.
    Additional survivors include Mr. Grabowski’s brother, Celestine “Babe” Grabowski, and Mrs. Grabowski’s sister, Helen Thomas.

Longtime Dundalk resident Joseph H. Cowman Sr. died of cancer July 13 at his home, two hours past his 80th birthday. He had lived in the community for over 50 years.
    {reg}Born in the Govans area of Baltimore, he served for three years in the U.S. Navy as a submarine engineman.
    He worked for the Maryland State Department of Transportation Highway Planning Division, retiring after more than 30 years. He also retired from the Maryland Army National Guard as a software analyst and information systems operator after 17 years of service.
    Children Deborah Brze-zenski, Joseph Cowman Jr. and Chuck Cowman, sister Jean Bermel and five grandchildren survive him.

    She was primarily a homemaker but held various part time and temporary jobs as well.
    She was a former parishioner at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church and Christ the King Roman Cathlic Church.
    She enjoyed spending time with family, visiting friends and neighbors, making crafts, cooking and reading.
    Sons Kenneth Jr., Wayne, Thomas and Richard Hiebler survive her, along with daughters Patricia Kurzmiller, Nancy Crocetti, Elaine Black and Lisa Dail, 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
    Kenneth C. Hiebler Sr., husband of 40 years, preceded her in death.
    A Mass of Christian burial celebrated at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church was followed by a viewing at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home. Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
