Edgemere native Stuart M. Wood Jr. died Feb. 2 at his home in Given, W.Va., from a sudden illness. He was 61. Family and friends knew him as Woody.
{reg}The U.S. Army veteran retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Given.
He owned Woody’s Locksmith and became a well-known locksmith in Ripley, W.Va.
Sons Paul S. and Joseph M. Wood, daughter Kelli A. Duskey, brother Don Wood, sisters Doris Morris, Loretta Neiswenter and Mary Klump and nine grandchildren survive him.
Parents Evelyn L. and Stuart M. Wood Sr., wife Karen L. Wood and brother Charles H. Wood preceded him in death.
American Legion Post 107 conducted interment with military honors at Jackson County Memorial Gardens following services at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley.{/reg}
