A graveside service for Eleanor Esther Bailiff will be held Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Road in Bel Air.
    {reg}The former Pine Avenue resident died May 9 in Goose Creek, S.C., where she lived. She was 81.
    Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the mother of five was the daughter of the late Charles Smith and Esther Brady. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
    Children Gene Bailiff, Marcy Jo Pearson and Danielle Nicole Jarrell, sister Marjorie Morrison, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive her.
    Eugene Harold Bailiff Sr., her husband of 56 years, and sons Edward Allen Bailiff and Jeffrey Keith Bailiff Sr. preceded her in death.{/reg}

Deborah Ann Sage Thorn

Edgemere native Deborah Ann Sage Thorn died May 22 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of conjestive obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 51. 
    {reg}She graduated from  Sparrows Point High School in 1980 and worked at DAP for eight years.
    She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, walking her dog, Ozzie, and watching Orioles and Ravens games.
    Gary Thorn Sr., her husband of 27 years, survives her, along with sons Gary Thorn Jr. and Kevin Thorn, mother Eleanor Sage, brothers Terry Sage Jr. and David Sage and sister Linda Lamb. Father Terry Sage Sr. predeceased her.
    Services were held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, with interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.{/reg}

Services for George A. Wildberger will be held Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Ave., followed by interment at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
    {reg}The former Dundalk resident and World War II veteran died June 1 at the Loch Raven VA Community Living and Rehabilitation Center of lung cancer. He was 90.
    A native of Baltimore, he graduated from Kenwood High School and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during the war. He was a lifetime member of the Dundalk VFW and the Dundalk American Legion.
    He worked at the Cincinnati Time Recorder Company. After retiring, he moved to Rehoboth Beach, Del., before returning to Dundalk, where he  lived at Center Place.
    He loved oysters and softshell crabs and the artwork of Thomas Kinkade. In his younger years, he enjoyed dancing.
    Survivors include daughters Raynelle Sgambati, Coleen Cawley and Janet Pate, sister Thelma Gayhardt, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Betty J. Adams

Former Dundalk and Edgemere resident Betty J. Adams died May 19 in Jarrettsville surrounded by her children. She was 90.
    {reg}Born and raised in Dundalk, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Helen Hefflefinger. She married James J. Adams and the couple raised five children. He died in 1988.
    “Bingo was her passion,”  a loved one said. “Friday night at the Dundalk Knights of Columbus was always a highlight for her.”
    She also loved bowling, bunko and shuffleboard and was a loyal Orioles and Ravens fan.
    Children James J. Adams Jr., Judy E. Laane, Joanne L. Martins and Douglas R. Adams, brother Ray Hefflefinger, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson survive her.
    Son Jeffrey Adams preceded her in death.
    Graveside services were held at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery.{/reg}

Emma Drawer Gorray

Lifelong Dundalk resident Emma Drawer Gorray died May 23 at Joseph Richey Hospice. She was 101.
    {reg}Born in Baltimore, she lived on Synder Avenue for more than 70 years.
    She was the last surviving charter member of Christ Lutheran Church. “She had a very strong and Christian faith,” a loved one said. “She was very kind, caring and loving and made friends with everyone she met.”
    She enjoyed solving word puzzles.
    Survivors include children Dorothy Randall, Robert Gorray and Carol Reuter, siblings John Drawer, Ruth Schammel and Elizabeth Drawer, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    Husband Adam Gorray and sister Marie Dippold preceded her in death.
    Interment at Christ Lutheran Cemetery followed services at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk.

    {reg}The former Dundalk resident died June 1 in Parma, Ohio, at the age of 79. 
    Born and raised in Dundalk, she lived in the community until 1985. She was a former member of the First Lutheran Church of Gray Manor and attended St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Ohio.
    A homemaker, she taught Sunday school and enjoyed working with children. “She was well liked by everyone,” a loved one said.
    Survivors include son Michael Varner and two grandchildren. Husband Clyde William Varner Jr. and daughter Linda Taylor preceded her in death.

Viewing for Dennis Bellamy will be held Friday, June 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, 7922 Wise Avenue, with services Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Lorraine Park Cemetery. 
    {reg}He died June 10 of a heart attack at his home on Merritt Boulevard, where he lived since 1971.  He was 77.
    Born on West Lafayette Street in Baltimore, he graduated from Southern High School and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
    He worked at Bethlehem Steel and retired at the age of 62.
    He was a frequent patron of the Dunkin Donuts on Wise Avenue and loved visiting Las Vegas.
    Survivors include daughter Vickie Bellamy, sister Gail Decker, one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
    Margaret Bellamy, his wife of 39 years, died in 2002. Two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.

A memorial service for John Sarkas will be held Saturday, June 14, at 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 1007 E. Homberg Ave. in Essex.
    {reg}The former Dundalk resident died May 29 at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. He was 71 and lived in Essex.
    He was a carpet installer and many people knew him as “The Carpet Man.”
    He served in the U.S. Army, where he earned a general education diploma, and belonged to the VFW. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Sue Haven Yacht Club.
    Along with boating, he loved hunting and golfing.
    Helen Fisher Sarkas, his wife of 49 years, survives him, along with daughters Donna and Sandy, stepson Donald, brothers Paul, Frank and Walter, sisters Donna and Ilona, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.{/reg}

    {reg}The daughter of the late Stella and  George Chambers Sr. was born in Philadelphia, Pa. She worked for Atwater Cab Company and Longshoremen’s Local 333.

A memorial service for Karen Elizabeth DeBarbora will be held Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1803 Dundalk Ave., where she was a member.
    {reg}The longtime Sparrows Point resident died June 8 at her home of pancreatic cancer. She was 65.
    Born in Baltimore, she graduated from high school and worked for several years as an overnight operator at Signus.
    She leaves behind mother Katherine Martin, sons Frank Besser and Timothy DeBarbora, stepsons Paul, Richard and Peter DeBarbora IIII, stepdaughter Barbara McWatters and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Husband Peter DeBarbora III and sons Wendell and Jason Besser preceded her in death.

   {reg} The longtime Dundalk resident died June 7 in Baltimore at the age of 59.
    Born in the Federal Republic of Germany to the late Hans and Helga Hoesch, he emigrated to the United States in 1967 and had lived in Dundalk for 46 years.
    He graduated from Dundalk High School in 1974 and attended Towson University. He worked at Baltimore Signs and then at Lever Brothers.
    He was an amateur photographer and loved the Orioles and Ravens.
    Sister Gina Kafka survives him.{/reg}

Leona Ruth Hornack of Dundalk died May 28 at Manor Care in Rossville at the age of 87.  
    {reg}Born in Sparrows Point, she grew up in Jones Creek and graduated from Sparrows Point High School. She worked at Bethlehem Steel for 19 years and then at Edwards and Anthony Drug Store, until it closed.
    She married Fred Hornack in 1951. He died in 1992.
    She loved cats and enjoyed reading and solving word search puzzles. Her favorite TV programs were “Animal Planet” and “Law and Order.”
    Survivors include children Paul Hornack and Sandy Ravita and sister Virginia.
    Parents George and Barbara Tignor and siblings Nelson, Frank and Doris preceded her in death.
    Services were held at Dabrowski-Chojnacki Funeral Home, with interment at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.{/reg}

Louis H. Sparks Jr.

Former Edgemere resident Louis H. Sparks Jr. died of a heart attack on June 2 in Charles Town, W.Va., where he lived. He was 76.
    {reg}The 1955 graduate of Sparrows Point High School served in the U.S. Navy for 11 years as an air traffic controller.
    He  worked for Bethlehem Steel and then as an Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controller for 21 years. He later owned and operated Sparks and Sons Car Dealership.
    He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the carpenters’ union and the Hermitage Ridge Skeet Shooting Club.
    His interests included woodworking, gardening, shooting and reading.
    Survivors include Marjorie Gingher Sparks, his wife of 56 years, sons Michael Wayne and Matthew Jon Sparks, daughters Laura Sparks Leary and Susan Sparks Myers, sister Mary Lee Sparks Makinen, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
    He was born in Baltimore to the late Louis H. and Naomi Sparks. Brothers Ronald Wayne and Dennis Lee Sparks also preceded him in death.{/reg}

Michael Dennis Krawczyk Jr.

Lifelong Dundalk resident Michael Dennis Krawczyk Jr. died suddenly on June 2 at the age of 25.
    {reg}He graduated from Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts in 2006 and earned a journeyman’s license as a HVAC technician. He worked at J.M. Taylor, Inc.
    He enjoyed being with family and friends, going to shows and participating in the Renaissance Festival with his brothers.
    Survivors include parents Peggy and Michael Krawczyk Sr., brothers Sean Patrick and Eric Michael Krawczyk, son Michael Dennis Krawczyk III and fiancée Sandra Marie Lynn.
    Services were held at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church, with interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery.{/reg}

    {reg}Born in North Carolina, she moved to Dundalk as a child. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.
    Survivors include mother Catherine N. Kopas, former husband and companion Jerry L. McDaniel, children Catherine T. Wisner-Hunt, Tammy L. Wisner-Morley and Christopher D. Tillman, brother Tommy Allen, sisters Monica E. Fugate and Lana P. Kopas, three grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

    {reg}Born and raised in West Inverness, she attended Our Lady of Hope School as a girl and was a longtime parishioner at  Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church.
    She loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.
    Survivors also include daughters Jennifer and Holly Martin, brothers Danny and Eric Hasselberger and sister Robin Westfall.
    Parents Ferdinand and Ruby Hasselberger, siblings Pamela Healey and Frederick and Michael Hasselberger preceded her  in death.

John Charles Spatafore Jr.

Longtime Dundalk resident and Korean War veteran John Charles Spatafore Jr. died June 12 at the age of 84.
    {reg}He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the war and was an active member of the Dundalk Knights of Columbus. He worked as a supervisor at Bethlehem Steel for 34 years.
    Wife Irene Spatafore, co-founder of Angels Supporting Your Troops, survives him, along with children Gregory, Martin and Valerie Spatafore, siblings Blanche, Jerry and Barry Spatafore, three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
    He was the son of John and Carmella Spatafore. Sisters Mary, Theresa and Flora and brother Thomas also preceded him in death.
    A Mass of Christian burial was held at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, with interment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Mary Theresa McGeeney Kuegler

    Edgemere resident Mary Theresa McGeeney Kuegler died June 6 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after a short illness. She was 46.
    {reg}Known as “T-Bird” by her family, she was born and raised in Essex and graduated from Chesapeake High School.
    She had worked at Food Lion in Edgemere previously and was currently employed at the deli at Redner’s Market in Joppa.
    “She was a huge collector of all sorts of [miniature] pigs,” a loved one said. An avid stock car racing fan, her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. She also loved the Orioles and Ravens and enjoyed going to quarter auctions. 
    Survivors include Frank L. Kuegler III, her husband of 24 years, daughter Erica D. Kuegler, sister Deborah Nida, brothers Joseph, Steve and Eugene McGeeney and one granddaughter.
    Parents Joseph and Helen McGeeney and brother Edward McGeeney preceded her in death.
    Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.{/reg}

    Old Dundalk resident Norma Jean Capello died June 14 after a short illness. She was 74.
   {reg} Born in Dot, W.Va., the daughter of the late Alfred Eugene Fuller and Lilah Esther Breeden, she worked at Allied Signal and Raytheon for 20 years and then at General Electric for two years.
    She enjoyed reading, needlepoint and solving crossword puzzles.
    Benjamin Capello, her husband of 52 years, survives her, along with children John, Melissa and Jill Capello, brothers Stephen and Richard Ful-ler, sisters Marine Mills, Brenda Reyes and Sharon Elliott and two granddaughters. Sister Geneva Suttle preceded her in death.
    Services were held at Bradley-Ashton-Kehl Funeral Home.{/reg}
