    Lifelong Edgemere resident Charles L. Weir Jr. died Oct. 23 in Baltimore at the age of 82.
    {reg}He attended Sparrows Point High School, served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1957 and worked at Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years.
    He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with family.
    Survivors include wife Blanche E. Jacobs Weir, son Michael S. Weir, daughters Victoria L. Zacherl and Joyce E. Hassan, sister Gladys Pacitto, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Services were held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, with interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Joseph John Thon Jr.

    Former North Point Village and Edgemere resident Joseph John Thon Jr. died Sept. 25 in Cape Coral, Fla., at the age of 72.
    {reg}Born in Maryland, the son of the late Anna and Joseph John Thon Sr. worked as an over the road truck driver. He had lived in Florida for four months.
    Survivors include children Brenda Thon Schimpf and Jeffrey Thon, siblings Helen Vendetti, Sandy Fitzgerald, Dot Horrocks, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
    He was preceded in death by wife Dolores Thon, son Joseph John Thon III and siblings Joanne Thon Elmore and Charles Thon Sr.
    A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, with interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.{/reg}

Joseph Michael Frazier

    Viewing for Joseph Michael Frazier will be held Friday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Evans Funeral Chapel, 8800 Harford Road in Parkville, with services Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m.
    {reg}The longtime Dundalk resident died Nov. 1 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center at the age of 34.
    He graduated from Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts and worked at Poor Boys for several years.
    He enjoyed music, comic books and spending time with family. “He loved his three nephews,” a family member said.
    Wife Eowyn Morgain Frazier, father Stephen Michael Frazier, mother Patricia Ann Biddle, stepfather Keith Biddle and siblings Sarah and Joshua Frazier also survive him.
    Interment will be private.{/reg}

    Marion Marie Lovelace Bruening died Oct. 20 at the Heritage Center in Dundalk at the age of 80.
    “She was devoted to her children,” a loved one said.
   {reg} She was born and raised in North Carolina. She moved to Baltimore as a young woman, where she lived most her life.
    Sons Wallace Bowman Jr., Robert Bowman and Roy Bowman, daughter Beatrice Rios, brother Lindsey Lovelace, sisters Lillian Sparks and Francis Wyatt, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren survive her.
    Henry Bruening, her husband of 11 years, and daughter Rose Price preceded her in death.{/reg}

    Longtime Holborn Road resident Ann Marie Russo Sturmer died Oct. 14 at her home of heart failure at the age of 63.
    {reg}The daughter of the late Peter W. and Phyllis M. Griswold Russo was born and raised in Boston, Mass. She moved to Dundalk at the age of 18.
    She worked as a waitress at many area restaurants and was last employed at a warehouse. She was a member of the Moose Lodge.
    She leaves behind stepchildren Joe Sturmer, Katherine Harrington, Tina
Reinhardt, Susan Thurston and Rita Sturmer, siblings John, Sam and Peggy Russo and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
    Son Louis F. Sturmer Jr. and stepson Robert Sturmer preceded her in death.
    At her request, her body was donated to the State Anatomy Board of Maryland.{/reg}

    Viewing for Thomas L. Hammacher Jr. will be held Friday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Kaczorowski Funeral Home, 1201 Dundalk Ave., with services at 7 p.m.
    {reg}The lifelong Dundalk resident died suddenly on Nov. 10 at his home at the age of 75.
    The son of the late Ann and Thomas L. Hammacher Sr. was born in Dundalk and attended Dundalk High School. He retired from General Motors after 20 years of service.
    His enjoyed vegetable gardening, riding his tractor and fishing. “He was very family-oriented,” a loved one said.
    Survivors include children Thomas L. Hammacher III, John Martin Hammacher and Gloria L. Bondura, brothers Albert and Paul, sisters Bobbie and Arlene and eight grandchildren. 
    Along with his parents, brothers Wayne and Billie preceded him in death.

James Zurick

    North Point Village resident and Korean War veteran James Zurick died Oct. 26 of natural causes at the age of 86.
   {reg} A native of Booth, W.Va., he served in the U.S. Army for four years, including his service in Korea.
    He was an assembly line worker at General Motors. He belonged to Disabled American Veterans and was a parishioner at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and going to casinos.
    Daughters Kathy Whisner and Mary Ann Belzner, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive him.
    Antonette Zurick, his wife of 55 years, died in 2010.
    Services were held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, with interment at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.{/reg}

James Bernard Gower

    James Bernard Gower died Oct. 26 of a heart attack at his home on Tee Jay Lane at the age of 43. He was known as “Spanky” to friends and family.
   {reg} “He was a fun-loving guy who would do anything for anybody,” a friend said. “He loved his cat and he really loved watching boxing and Orioles and Ravens games with his father.”
    He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool and playing bingo at North Point Inn.
    He was born in Baltimore and graduated from Patterson High School.   
    Father James Gower Sr. survives him. His mother and brother preceded him in death.
    A memorial service is pending. At his request, his body was donated to science.{/reg}

Dundalk resident Elsie V. Lingelbach Doran died Oct. 23 in Baltimore of natural causes. She was 76.
    {reg}A native of Baltimore, she lived in Edgemere before moving to Dundalk. She worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital for 39 years as an IBM specialist.
    She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a former fan of the Baltimore Colts and loved watching the Ravens and Orioles.
    Children David Frady, Virginia Elliott, Tracey Appel and Kathey Dooley, brother Ted Lingelbach, sister Kathleen Armentrout and two grandchildren survive her. Parents Edward and Elsie Reiche Lingelbach preceded her in death.

Ingeborg Clara Jeanette Morganthall of Waterview Road died Oct. 28 in Baltimore of respiratory failure at the age of 84. Family and friends knew her as “Inga.”
    {reg}The daughter of John T. and Hanny M. Foster was born in Baltimore and graduated from Sparrows Point High School.
    A homemaker, she also worked as a secretary at Montgomery Ward and as a   wireman at Westinghouse.
    Son David H. Morganthall, brother Hansi Foster, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive her.
    Along with her parents, husband James D. Morganthall Sr. and son James D. Morganthall Jr. preceded her in death.
    A memorial service was held at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home, with interment at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriotsville.

    Ron Mortenson, a longtime Dundalk resident and Vietnam War veteran,  died Oct. 28 of cancer at the age of 70. Friends and family knew him as “Lightning.”
    {reg}He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Princeton during the war.
    “He was patriotic and proud of his service,” a loved one said. “He loved his family and friends and always reached out to anyone in need. He will be truly missed by thosed blessed enough to have known him.”
    Survivors include sisters Lynn Patrick, Charlene Rodgers and Cindy Blachowicz.
    Parents Calvin and Ruth Wyatt and brothers Calvin Wyatt and Robert Mortenson preceded him in death.

    Gray Haven Road resident Frances Louise Biscoe died Oct. 31 at the age of 77.
    {reg}She was born in Baltimore and spent most of her life in the city. She moved to Dundalk in 2001.
    “She loved bingo,” a family member said.
    Survivors include husband Joseph William Biscoe Sr., children Susan Posluszny, Joseph William Biscoe Jr., Matthew T. Biscoe, Helen M. Biscoe and Christopher P. Biscoe, sister Geraldine Fazenbaker, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Children Michael M., Christine and Joseph Biscoe preceded her in death.
    Services were held at Schimunek Funeral Home in Nottingham. Interment was private.{/reg}

Holly Banks Sr.

    Longtime Dundalk resident Holly Banks Sr. died Sept. 29 at Brinton Woods Post Acute Care Center in Baltimore of natural causes. He was 97.  
    {reg}Born and raised in Virginia, he lived in North Point Village for 56 years. He worked at General Motors and retired in 1979.
    Genola Banks, his wife of 70 years, survives him, along with sons Holly Banks Jr. and Donald Banks Sr., sister Mildred Jo Gorinstaff, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park followed services at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk.{/reg}

    Edward L. Robey Jr. of Dundalk died Nov. 11 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of colon cancer. He was 75 and lived on Paulette Road for 14 years.
   {reg} A native of Baltimore, he attended Southern High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years. He  worked as a truck driver for 38 years.
    He loved deer hunting.
    Survivors include Susan Robey, his wife of 58 years, sons Edward, James and Perry, daughters Susan and Lisa, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Parents Edward and Bessie Robey preceded him in death.
    Services at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk were private.{/reg}

    Viewing for Charles A. Darby will be held Friday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, with services at 6 p.m.
    {reg}The lifelong Dundalk resident died Nov. 13 at his home from health complications at the age of 78.
    Born in Dundalk, he attended St. Rita’s Catholic School, graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s High School and earned a degree in dentistry from University of Maryland. He worked as a dentist for 40 years.
    He served in the Maryland National Guard and belonged to the Dundalk Lion’s Club, where he served as president from 1988 to 1990.
    In his free time, he enjoyed building and working with his hands. “He could build a house from the foundation up,” a loved one said.
    In his younger years, he enjoyed horseback riding, wrestling and soccer.
    Family remember him as a devoted father and grandfather.
    Survivors include Sandra Darby, his wife of 43 years, children Scott Darby and Charlee Anzalone, sister Margaret Brookes and five grandchildren.

    Shirley Sadler Roberts of Harold Road died Nov. 18 at her home of heart failure at the age of 79.
    {reg}She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo and shuffleboard.
    Survivors include daughters Tina Marie Roberts and Danielle McGowan, sister Mary Patterson, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    She was born in Maryland to the late Marie Reynolds and Daniel Sadler. Husband John F. Roberts also preceded her in death.

Edward Clinton Haas Jr.

    Edward Clinton Haas Jr., formerly of Dundalk, died Nov. 17 after a brief illness in Chambersburg, Pa., where he lived. He was 63.
    {reg}The son of the late Patricia and Edward Haas Sr. grew up on Lawrence Road and graduated from Dundalk High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from General Motors in Martinsburg, W.Va., after 34 years of service.
    He was a UAW member and enjoyed collecting Diecast model cars.
    Gloria Marie Haas, his wife of 21 years, survives him, along with stepson Kenneth, stepdaughter Angela, brothers Michael and Stephen and sisters Ann and Michele. His parents and sister Barbara Curie preceded him in death.

Robert Dale Gordon

    Lifelong Old Dundalk resident and Korean War veteran Robert Dale Gordon died Nov. 20 at the age of 82.
    {reg}The son of the late Marie and Dale Gordon was born in Indiana and moved to Dundalk at the age of three. He and wife Virginia Clark Gordon, who suvives him, graduated from Dundalk High School in 1949. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 24.
    “He was extremely proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War,”  a loved one said. He attained the rank of technical sergeant.
    He graduated from the University of Baltimore and worked at the Harry T. Campbell Company for 40 years, where he last held the position of foreman.
    He enjoyed watching the Orioles, the Ravens and University of Maryland basketball. He also loved gardening and spent many hours tending his tomato and pepper plants.
    “He will be greatly missed by his much-loved cats, Manny, Mandy, Molly and Liberty,” a family member said.
    Along with his wife, survivors include sons Robert Jr. and Timothy, three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Sister Nina Gordon O’Day preceded him in death.
    A celebration of his life was held at Grace Church, where he was a member.{/reg}

    Longtime Dundalk resident Virginia G. Roberts died Oct. 29 of heart failure at Heritage Center. She was 102.
    {reg}Born and raised in Richmond, Va., she moved to Baltimore in 1942 and lived on German Hill Road for 62 years.
    She worked as a crossing guard for 10 years.
    Survivors include daughters Jaqueline B. Wallring and Elizabeth A. Lanier, sisters Louise Giovettie and Beth Harris, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    William J. Roberts, her husband of 63 years, preceded her in death.

    A memorial service for Florence B. Prettyman will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. at Merritt Park Community Church, 1799 Merritt Blvd.
    {reg}The longtime Dundalk resident died Nov. 23 in Baltimore at the age of 92. 
    She was born and raised in Clarksburg, W.Va., and lived on Wise Avenue for 70 years. A homemaker and mother of five, she loved babysitting her grandchildren.
    Sons John Wright, Ronald Wright and James Prettyman, daughter Linda Cugler, one sister, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive her.
    Husband Donald Prettyman died in December 1995. Eight brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.{/reg}
